ECOLIGHT©
Otari's Ecolight© fluorescent lighting ballasts for railway are rugged and reliable units, proven over the last 13 years in continuous use, and improved through three major design upgrades.
The key features of Ecolight© are:
Unique design eliminates transient damage, the major cause of railway ballast failures.
Circuitry provides instant start and flicker free operation, and the method of construction avoids the buzz or “hum” heard from about 10% of conventional fluorescent ballasts.
The unit's output can be set to any level to reduce MA or MG set load and adjust lighting output for superior commuter comfort.
The highly efficient design reduces lighting heat which can substantially reduce summer roof cavity heat generation and passenger compartment overheating.
Minimal filament heating greatly extends the life of the fluorescent tube and eliminates the ugly discolouration and damage at the ends caused by filament spatter.
The compact electronics and custom repackaging by Otari allows retrofitting/replacement of virtually any shape of existing ballast.
The Technology Edge
What makes Ecolight© unique is not just the high efficiency and adjustable output. The real difference is the design which uses a completely new circuit arrangement to decrease parts count and make many top-end features available in an economical ballast.
